Government investigators and international aid organizations agree that human trafficking happens in every corner of America. Individuals are living in slavery under our very noses. But because there are no chains or whips, we often fail to recognize those who are living without basic freedoms in the United States.
In this CLE, we’ll take a look at what slavery looks like in 21st Century America and how we can ask better questions during intake interviews that enable us to identify, refer or represent survivors of human trafficking to help them find freedom. Attendees will leave with a screening tool and a better understanding of the civil and immigration remedies available in these cases.
