The first segment of this course explores effective writing of Statements of Questions Involved, and Statements of Facts. The following topics will be considered:
 
- How to write a "Statement of Questions Involved" that compels the desired answer
 - Typical mistakes found in Statements of Facts, including witness-by-witness summaries and argument
 - How to write a chronology that accentuates key facts
 - The use of timelines and pictures to explain and to accentuate pertinent facts
 - The identification of conflicts to enhance the exposition of the facts
 
 
The second segment explores effective writing of legal arguments. The following topics will be considered:
 
- Block quotations
 - String citations
 - Topic headings
 - Paragraph organizational principles
 - Brevity
