In the last four years, global sales of drones have more than quadrupled. In an age where the photography and real estate industries are leading the purchases of drones with pre-installed HD cameras, treating them like toys is no longer an option. Instead, many states have adopted some form of regulation about how drones are to be used within their jurisdictions. Up until the end of last year, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations governed in Pennsylvania. That changed with Act 78, signed into law by Governor Wolf in October 2018, and effective as of January 12, 2019.
This session covers new drone regulations, including Pennsylvania’s first set of criminal penalties for the unlawful use of unmanned aircraft.
